Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

The Company worked to improve performance through proactive sales activities. In the real estate business, revenue decreased significantly due to the reaction to income from the sale of real estate held for sale recorded in the same period of the previous year. In the transportation business, increased tourism demand for railway services and higher use of 京福バス contributed to higher revenue, while revenue at 京都バス decreased due to sluggish growth in inbound demand and service suspensions caused by a typhoon. In the leisure and services business, Hotel Keifuku Fukui Ekimae posted lower revenue as the effect of the opening of the Shinkansen line tapered off, but revenue increased at the merchandise business at Arashiyama Station Building and at Echizen Matsushima Aquarium due to increased customer and visitor numbers.
