Supplementary Explanatory Materials for the First Quarter of Fiscal 2026 Results

In the first quarter of FY2026, operating revenue increased by ¥9.4 billion, driven by higher real estate sales and railway passenger numbers. However, operating profit fell by ¥400 million and net income by ¥200 million, mainly due to higher railway depreciation, personnel and power costs. The full-year forecasts remain unchanged from the figures announced in May, with operating revenue projected to reach a record high of ¥504.0 billion.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

The increase in operating revenue was attributable to the sale of large properties in the real estate business and higher passenger numbers in the railway business. The decrease in operating profit was due to higher depreciation, personnel and power costs in the railway business, recognition of asset retirement obligations related to the Shinjuku redevelopment, and higher depreciation associated with guest-room renovations in the hotel business.
