Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

The transportation business reported higher revenue due mainly to an increase in passengers carried, but profit declined because of higher repair expenses, personnel expenses and other costs. The real estate business reported higher revenue due mainly to increased rental income, but profit declined because of the reaction to the sale of a large property in the previous fiscal year and other factors. The lifestyle services businesses performed steadily, while the hotel and resort business reported higher revenue and profit by capturing inbound demand. Ordinary income increased due in part to the recognition of an amount equivalent to negative goodwill associated with the additional acquisition of investment units.
