Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

Japanese equity markets rose on expectations for the growth of AI- and semiconductor-related companies and for corporate earnings, among other factors, and assets under management increased 17.8% from the end of the previous fiscal year. As a result, asset-based fees increased 25.9% year on year and performance fees increased 144.9%. The increase in expenses was mainly due to higher personnel expenses and higher commissions paid in line with the increase in average assets under management of publicly offered investment trusts, while the recording of a gain on the sale of investment securities also contributed to net income.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Against a backdrop of rising Japanese equity markets, assets under management increased 17.8% from the end of the previous fiscal year, while asset-based fees increased 25.9% year on year and performance fees increased 144.9%. Operating expenses and general and administrative expenses increased 20.6%, mainly due to higher personnel expenses and higher commissions paid in line with the increase in average assets under management of publicly offered investment trusts. Interim net income attributable to owners of the parent increased, partly because the company recorded a gain of ¥1,567 million on the sale of investment securities.
