The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the first half, the reasons were increased stock brokerage commissions resulting from the rise in Japanese and U.S. equity markets, higher mutual fund sales commissions driven by the promotion of portfolio proposals for high-net-worth clients, and growth in stable revenue from the accumulation of mutual fund sales and margin trading. In the second quarter, the decline in trading flows resulting from the correction in U.S. equity prices, difficulties in managing positions related to foreign equities, and weaker investment performance at 東海東京グローバル・インベストメンツ were factors behind the declines in revenue and profit, while gains and losses from the management of investment partnerships increased.
