The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Higher stock brokerage commissions driven by rising Japanese and U.S. equity markets, growth in stable revenue streams such as investment trust administration fees and the balance of credit transactions, improved investment performance at an overseas asset management subsidiary, and gains recognized on the transfer of a subsidiary's business. Compared with the previous quarter, the factors cited were a recovery in trading flows accompanying the rise in stock prices, higher brokerage commissions on foreign equities, a recovery in trading income, and growth in recurring revenue.
