Items this document does not state (18)
These are items the company does not state in this document. We do not leave them blank, nor fill them in from other sources or by inference.
The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the Japan financial business, fees received from financial services in the securities business and revenue from debt collection and consumer credit increased. In the South Korea financial business, profit increased due to lower funding interest rates and declines in losses on sales of receivables and provisions for doubtful accounts. In the real estate business, sales of newly built condominiums remained strong, and gains on sales of fixed assets also contributed. By contrast, profit in the Southeast Asia financial business declined due to decreases in lending rates, the balance of loans, the balance of deposits and collection income from purchased receivables, among other factors. Profit in the investment business declined due to an increase in litigation expenses, among other factors.
