The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

In the first half, results substantially exceeded the plan, mainly because funds investment income was higher than expected and operating expenses were lower than expected. The increase in consolidated revenue and profit in the first half was mainly attributable to Seven Bank on a non-consolidated basis and the U.S. business. On a non-consolidated basis, the factors contributing to the increase in profit were higher funds investment income and ATM acceptance fees, as well as lower depreciation expense resulting from the change in ATM useful lives.
