The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

The increase in ordinary revenue was mainly attributable to higher funds investment income and other operating income. The increase in ordinary expenses was mainly attributable to higher funds procurement costs and other operating expenses. On a non-consolidated basis, interest on loans and gains on sales of government bonds and other securities increased, and a gain on the extinguishment of shares held in connection with the merger with Nagano Bank of ¥5,745 million was recorded as extraordinary income.
