The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Revenue increased during the fiscal year due to higher unit prices, increased saury landings, stronger demand for farmed fish and higher volumes of frozen processed products such as shrimp, crab and salmon. In the seafood wholesale business, higher raw material costs and increased procurement and selling expenses pushed down profit, while profit in the refrigerated warehousing business increased due to higher storage and cargo-handling fees and improved operating efficiency. For the next fiscal year, market conditions for some seafood products are expected to change, and no gain on the sale of securities is anticipated in net income.
