「In April 2025, we invested in Electra Steel Inc. of the United States, which produces electrolytic iron, the raw material for “green steel” manufactured using methods that generate significantly lower CO₂ emissions than conventional methods. As decarbonization of manufacturing processes becomes an important issue for the steel industry, we are supporting the adoption of green steel in the steel and automotive industries through this investment. We will also accelerate the development of a sustainable and integrated supply chain, including by signing a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Namibia at the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), held in August 2025.」
