The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. To achieve the planned acquisition of ¥300 billion or more in treasury shares for the fiscal year ending March 2027. As part of its shareholder return policy, the Company has set a target of total payout ratio of 40% or more. The Company determined that the tender offer was a reasonable measure in light of the transparency of the transaction, its relatively limited impact on market liquidity, and the acquisition of shares at a certain discount to the market price. The Company also intends to receive tenders from shareholders of non-life insurance companies that have adopted policies to reduce their cross-shareholdings.
