Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

In the hunting firearms business, weak orders from the Browning Group due in part to the impact of the Trump tariffs, weak performance by bolt-action rifles, and higher raw material costs combined with insufficient pass-through to selling prices led to lower sales and profit. In the machine tools business, sales declined following the concentration of sales in the same period of the previous year, while profit was secured mainly in the machining division. In the cloud solutions business, sales increased as a result of customer acquisition activities, and the loss narrowed.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

In the hunting firearms business, orders from the Browning Group were weak due in part to the impact of the Trump tariffs, and bolt-action rifles also underperformed. In addition, the inability to pass higher raw material costs on to selling prices put downward pressure on profit. In the machine tools business, the number and value of units sold declined following the concentration of sales in the same period of the previous year, while profit was secured mainly in the machining division.
