Reason for the revision

Orders from major customers in the manufacturing sector and product orders remained strong, and the effect of higher revenue is expected to result in operating income and ordinary income exceeding the previous forecasts. In addition, interim net income is expected to exceed the previous forecast significantly because a ¥741 million subsidy for business location and employment creation in areas affected by the tsunami and nuclear disasters, related to the Third Plant at the Second Funehiki Facility, will be recognized as extraordinary income. The full-year forecast was revised after taking into account the second-quarter earnings forecast and recent order trends.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

The sales forecast has been revised upward because orders from major customers in the manufacturing sector and product orders remained strong. Although the company was affected by higher raw material prices, personnel expenses and borrowing costs, the increase in revenue is expected to improve operating income and ordinary income. In addition, interim net income has been revised upward significantly because a ¥741 million subsidy related to the Third Plant at the Second Funehiki Facility will be recognized as extraordinary income. The full-year forecast takes into account the second-quarter earnings forecast and recent order trends.
