Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

In Japan, high-value-added products such as childcare appliances, baby food and skincare performed well. In addition, core products such as feeding bottles and nipples remained firm in overseas businesses, particularly the China business, resulting in revenue growth across all businesses. On the profit side, the increase in gross profit from higher revenue and the improvement in the gross profit margin absorbed the increase in selling, general and administrative expenses associated with growth investments and other factors.
