Reason for the revision

In the Electrical Materials and Piping Materials businesses, alternative demand arose in the first quarter due to advance procurement of certain products resulting from the situation in the Middle East and supply constraints. Although a reactionary decline had been anticipated from the second quarter onward, performance remained firm. Although higher raw material prices and other factors are expected to weigh on profit, profit is expected to exceed the previous forecast due to the revenue increase resulting from price revisions and other factors.

Previous-period resultsNet sales: ¥45,673 million; operating profit: ¥6,723 million; ordinary profit: ¥6,899 million; profit attributable to owners of the parent: ¥4,696 million; earnings per share: ¥290.73
