The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the Wellness business, supply disruptions caused by quality issues with raw materials and temporary fluctuations in demand from major biotechnology-related customers were factors behind the declines in net sales and operating income. The company explained that the main factors were the positive effect of higher sales in the Environmental Solutions business, higher sales of interlayer insulating film in the Information Electronics business due to growth in the semiconductor market for AI applications, and changes in the product mix and higher fixed costs in the Industrial Infrastructure business.
