「Seven Chemical was established in July 1971 and has manufactured and sold waterproofing materials and protective and finishing materials for exterior walls. As a pioneer in exterior-wall waterproofing materials, the company developed waterproofing materials with high performance in areas including waterproofing, durability and workability ahead of its competitors. In particular, its “Seven S/SS” series of waterproofing materials with transparent coatings has been one of its core products, with more than 25 years of sales history. We determined that the acquisition could generate synergies with our group’s repair and reinforcement technologies for structures in the infrastructure business, diversify the products we handle, and further strengthen our consolidated earnings base as the group expands its business domain, given the expected gradual growth in demand for renovation work to address the aging of buildings.」
On 16 September 2021, the company acquired all shares of Seven Chemical and made it a subsidiary. Combining its exterior-wall waterproofing and protective finishing materials with the group’s existing structural repair and reinforcement technologies, the transaction represents a new M&A theme aimed at addressing building deterioration, diversifying products, and strengthening the earnings base.
