The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Sales increased due to the launch of new products, initiatives targeting gift demand for Christmas, Mother's Day and Father's Day, intensified marketing activities including television commercials, newspaper advertising, campaigns and social media, stronger relationships and expanded business with major business partners, and new store openings. On the profit side, the steady performance of high-value-added products and strong performance in the e-commerce and retail divisions contributed, while the company also made substantial upfront investments, including in advertising. Net income growth was below operating profit growth, partly due to the impact of the additional recognition of deferred tax assets in the previous fiscal year.
