The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Net sales increased mainly because of higher outsourced production in Japan and overseas related to watches. Operating profit increased mainly due to higher gross profit. Ordinary profit increased mainly due to the recognition of foreign exchange gains from the translation of foreign-currency-denominated receivables from overseas subsidiaries amid exchange-rate fluctuations. Net income attributable to owners of the parent was affected by the recognition of corporate income taxes and prior-period corporate income taxes.
