The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Based on sales trends and collection prospects at certain cemeteries, the collection period for security deposits paid is expected to be longer than initially anticipated. Following discussions with the audit firm, the Company will write down the security deposits paid by recognizing an allowance for doubtful accounts. The Company explains that this reflects a decline in economic value, or time value, resulting from the longer collection period, rather than a deterioration in creditworthiness or an inability to collect. Certain other minor accounting treatments will also be corrected.
