The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Net sales increased mainly because Yakushi Studio Co., Ltd., New York Joe Exchange Co., Ltd. and Arknet Co., Ltd., which joined the Group during the previous fiscal year, contributed to consolidated results from the beginning of the period. The operating loss deteriorated due to the impact of the reversal of the temporary profit increase in the same period of the previous year in the Japanese Clothing and Jewelry Business, as well as higher amortization of goodwill and other expenses associated with M&A transactions conducted in the previous fiscal year. Meanwhile, profitability improved in some businesses, owing to the New Value segment's return to profitability and the expansion of sales channels in the Life Plus Business.
