The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

There was a one-off profit contribution from gains on the sale of investment securities. Operating income was lifted by higher profit in the Store Asset & Solution Business, higher profit in the Logistics & Food Processing Business, and an improvement in consolidated adjustments, while the Prepared Foods Business reported lower revenue and profit because consumers were more inclined to economize. In the Store Asset & Solution Business, the factors included higher recurring revenue from an increase in operating stores and the sale of one property. In the Logistics & Food Processing Business, the food processing, commissary and confectionery manufacturing divisions performed steadily.
