Steel: revenue and profit increased due to equipment renewal projects, maintenance projects for aging facilities, and projects for electric arc furnaces. Automotive: revenue and profit increased due to sales of equipment for battery manufacturing processes and material-handling equipment. Electronics and semiconductors: revenue and profit increased due to higher sales of components for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and rotary joints. Machine tools: revenue and profit increased due to higher sales of rotary joints and equipment. Rubber and tires: revenue and profit declined because there were no large projects this fiscal year comparable to those in the same period of the previous year. High-performance materials and environmental solutions: despite some positive factors, the decline from the previous fiscal year could not be offset, resulting in lower revenue and profit. Paper and pulp: revenue declined despite strong sales of equipment and supplies, while segment profit increased.

These are items the company does not state in this document. We do not leave them blank, nor fill them in from other sources or by inference.
The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The company attributes the results to initiatives undertaken under its three-year medium-term plan, GP2026. In steel, automotive, electronics and semiconductors, and machine tools, sales of equipment, components and other products increased. In rubber and tires, there were no large projects this fiscal year comparable to those in the previous year. In high-performance materials, environmental solutions, and paper and pulp, the decline from the previous fiscal year could not be offset. Looking ahead, the company expects a recovery driven by AI-related investment and inbound demand, while citing trends in prices and interest rates, the situation in the Middle East, the prolonged weakness in China's property market, and soaring resource prices as risks.
