  1. FY2021-Q3First statedAnnual report

「Under these circumstances, we proceeded with the nationwide rollout and branding of the proposed model home "Skog no ie," and worked to develop and strengthen sales of new products, including imported natural-material products and the ductless total heat-exchange ventilation system "Air save." However, as noted above, the environment surrounding the housing market remains challenging due to the spread of COVID-19, resulting in revenue of ¥839.6 million, down 9.7% year on year, and operating profit of ¥65.3 million, down 9.7%. In the home-improvement retail industry, consumers' preference for saving remains strong, and competition with other companies in the industry and with companies in other sectors continues to intensify. Against this backdrop, we worked to differentiate ourselves from other stores by improving customer satisfaction and strengthening customer service. Increased demand for staying at home due to the impact of COVID-19 and the opening of new specialty pet stores also contributed to results, resulting in revenue of ¥1,663.1 million, up 13.3% year on year, and operating profit of ¥149.2 million, up 56.8%. We focused on the appropriate management and efficient operation of rental assets, resulting in revenue of ¥26.1 million, up 3.0% year on year, and operating profit of ¥19.0 million, up 8.0%. Although we worked to improve productivity through more efficient operations and reduce expenses, renovation work declined this fiscal year due to the spread of COVID-19, while expenses for opening the Hakodate sales office were incurred ahead of schedule. As a result, revenue was ¥58.3 million, down 25.1% year on year, and operating profit was ¥0.7 million, down 76.2%. Although we worked to improve operational efficiency by thoroughly implementing the fundamentals of design, supervision and construction at worksites, we received no replacement orders this fiscal year for the large-scale construction project secured in the previous fiscal year. Revenue was ¥92.3 million, down 20.7% year on year, and operating profit was ¥2.7 million, down 68.0%.」

Wholesale posted lower revenue and profit, while retail and real estate posted higher revenue and profit. Scaffolding rental and sash and glass installation posted lower revenue and profit.
