「As a result, revenue was ¥5,519 million, down 6.0% year on year, and operating profit was ¥524 million, down 0.4%. In the retail business, revenue was ¥11,278 million, up 0.2%, and operating profit was ¥806 million, down 8.6%. Through appropriate maintenance and efficient operation of rental assets, revenue was ¥211 million, up 7.5%, and operating profit was ¥129 million, up 0.5%. Although the company worked to improve productivity through more efficient operations and reduce expenses, partly due to the closure of the Obihiro sales office in December last year, revenue was ¥305 million, down 20.8%, and operating profit was ¥27 million, down 18.9%. By thoroughly implementing the fundamentals of design, supervision and construction at work sites, the company worked to improve operational efficiency, resulting in revenue of ¥570 million, up 12.7%, and operating profit of ¥37 million, compared with an operating loss of ¥20 million in the same quarter of the previous year.」
Wholesale recorded lower revenue and lower profit; retail recorded higher revenue and lower profit; real estate recorded higher revenue and higher profit; scaffolding rental recorded lower revenue and lower profit due to the closure of the Obihiro sales office; and sash and glass installation increased revenue and improved to an operating profit.
