「As a result, net sales were ¥5.873 billion (up 0.4% year on year) and operating income was ¥526 million (up 2.2%). In the retail business, net sales were ¥11.255 billion (up 1.3%) and operating income was ¥881 million (down 7.1%). The company focused on appropriate maintenance and efficient operation of its rental assets, resulting in net sales of ¥196 million (up 6.5%) and operating income of ¥129 million (up 2.8%). The company worked to improve productivity through more efficient operations and reduce expenses, but with expenses ahead of revenue due to the acceptance of foreign technical interns, net sales were ¥386 million (down 7.8%) and operating income was ¥34 million (down 39.7%). The company worked to improve operational efficiency by thoroughly applying the fundamentals of design, supervision and construction at worksites, but temporary expenses related to renovation of the head office also resulted in net sales of ¥505 million (down 5.7%) and an operating loss of ¥20 million (compared with operating income of ¥8 million in the year-earlier period).」
