The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The revisions reflect first-quarter results that were slightly above expectations. Operating profit benefited from higher gross profit from recurring revenue and lower SG&A expenses in the business karaoke business, and from higher sales in the karaoke and food-service businesses, while personnel expenses, food costs and store-opening expenses increased. Net income declined because the gain on the sale of property, plant and equipment recorded in the previous year did not recur.
