The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Although the appreciation of the yen had an impact during the fiscal year, increased sales of clutches for motorcycles in India and Brazil contributed to higher revenue. Operating profit benefited from the increase in revenue, lower provisions for product warranties and lower depreciation and amortization expenses in the United States, but was affected by U.S. tariffs, provisions for product warranties and costs associated with the consolidation of production sites in China.
