「The company is promoting reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, setting the target of "challenging to achieve effectively zero CO2 emissions by 2035 from the factories and offices of 村上開明堂本体 (Head Office, Tsukiji, Fujieda and Oigawa), defined as the total Scope 1 and 2 emissions (*), toward achieving carbon neutrality in 2050." In October 2024, the company also introduced CO2-free electricity at all 4 factories located in Shizuoka Prefecture, meeting all electricity demand with renewable energy. Annual power generation in 2025 was 718 MWh at the Tsukiji Factory, 1,103 MWh at the Oigawa Factory and 821 MWh at 村上開明堂九州.」
