  5. FY2019-Q1MaterialisedAnnual report

「Following instructions from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in its document titled "Implementation of Confirmation, etc. Following Improper Cases in Fuel-Economy and Emissions Sampling Inspections," dated 9 July 2018, we investigated data remaining in inspection reports and measuring equipment relating to fuel-economy and emissions sampling inspections, including through interviews with relevant personnel. We found that, in some cases, test results that should originally have been invalidated were processed as valid because the vehicle speed deviated from the prescribed range after the test could not be adjusted to the prescribed driving mode, and the deviation exceeded the permitted duration (a "trace error"). We reported this to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on 8 August 2018.」

A new case was identified in which a trace-error test in fuel-economy and emissions sampling inspections, which should originally have been invalidated, was processed as valid and reported to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
