The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Revenue increased due to the impact of foreign exchange translation resulting from the yen's depreciation, pull-forward demand from certain customers and higher mold sales. On the earnings side, in addition to the effect of higher revenue, temporary earnings contributions from the recovery of past development expenses and other costs from affiliated companies offset the surge in raw material costs. Net income attributable to owners of the parent increased because expenses related to business structure improvements and other costs recorded in the previous fiscal year were no longer incurred in the current fiscal year.
