Sales revenue increased due to higher unit prices for customer-supplied materials and the impact of foreign exchange, among other factors. Profit declined due in part to lower revenue and profit in the China segment, despite rationalisation improvements and the implementation of price pass-through. The factors affecting the change in operating profit were ¥4.5 billion from price pass-through, ¥1.5 billion from rationalisation improvements and ¥100 million from increased profit in businesses other than the parts business, offset by ¥3.1 billion from higher material, labour and other expenses, ¥2.1 billion from higher depreciation, ¥900 million from selling price fluctuations and ¥800 million from lower profit due to reduced sales in the parts business.
