The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

The medium-term management plan announced in March 2024 called for the shares to be redeemed in fiscal 2026 and fiscal 2028. However, the Company has accumulated retained earnings to fund the redemption of the preferred shares, its recent performance has been progressing steadily, and its equity ratio is expected to remain above 8.3% after the redemption, which it considers a stable level. Accordingly, it will acquire and cancel all of the shares ahead of schedule. Although the acquisition and cancellation will reduce equity, the Company plans to pursue flexible capital management, appropriate allocation of management resources, development of its business portfolio, cost reductions, DX investment and improved RORA.
