FY2021-Q3First statedAnnual report
「The environment surrounding the electricity business is expected to undergo major changes in existing business models, particularly in the retail electricity business, as distributed energy resources (DERs), including renewable energy, become more widespread; electricity shifts toward an “as a Service” model in response to changing consumer preferences; the value of kWh declines while the value of kW and ΔkW rises; and peer-to-peer electricity trading advances through technological progress including IoT and blockchain. The group believes it must move quickly to develop new businesses related to the retail electricity business in response to these changes.」
The company first presented in a consolidated manner the spread of distributed energy resources, the shift toward electricity as a service, changes in the value of kWh, kW and ΔkW, and the growth of C-to-C transactions enabled by IoT and blockchain as structural factors changing existing electricity business models.
