Demand for unit-load palletization remained solid, while spot rentals were weak due to the delayed recovery in personal consumption and lower cargo volumes in port areas, among other factors. Transportation costs were below plan as a result of greater transportation efficiency, and selling, general and administrative expenses also improved against plan. Depreciation expenses declined following a one-year extension of the useful lives of plastic pallets, while the pass-through of higher prices and a review of rental operations also contributed to improved profitability.

The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The company cited solid demand for unit-load palletization, lower-than-planned transportation costs, improved selling, general and administrative expenses, the pass-through of higher prices and a review of rental operations, and lower depreciation expenses following a one-year extension of the useful lives of plastic pallets. Spot rentals were affected by the delayed recovery in personal consumption and lower cargo volumes in port areas, while sales were affected by higher logistics-material prices due to the situation in the Middle East.
