The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The increase in consolidated revenue was attributable to the inclusion of HLJ from the beginning of the fiscal year, following its consolidation in the previous year. The improvement in operating income resulted from the recovery of the M&A advisory business, workforce optimization, fixed-cost reductions and productivity improvements following structural reforms, and a narrowing of FCI's loss due to the increase in the number of investments. Net income improved because one-off expenses incurred in the previous year, including the costs of acquiring HLJ and FMI's structural reform costs, did not recur in the current period. However, the company remained in the red due to the tax burden associated with the amortization of goodwill at FCI's investment holdings, among other factors.
