The nursing care segment reported lower profit due to initial costs for newly established facilities. The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the childcare services segment, the increase in newly contracted facilities in fiscal 2025 and growth in the number of children enrolled at the bilingual preschool in Fukuoka contributed to higher sales. On the earnings side, expenses in the quarter decreased year on year because the settlement of the official childcare service price was brought forward from the usual March timing to December of the previous year, resulting in an improved profit margin. In the nursing care segment, initial costs for newly established facilities weighed on earnings. In the lifestyle-related support services segment, earnings were reduced by a decline in the number of participants and the inability to pass higher costs for food ingredients and other items on to tuition and other fees.
