「In September of this year, the Group formulated the new medium-term management plan "Nitto Beyond 2023," which sets out the vision of where we want to be in 2030 and uses the first 3 years, from fiscal 2021 through fiscal 2023, as the execution period for achieving it. "Nitto Beyond 2023" aims to build a resilient corporate structure less susceptible to changes in the external environment. To achieve this, we will pursue "accelerating innovation," "promoting ESG management" and "strengthening management infrastructure." We have also designated "information interfaces," "next-generation mobility" and "human life" as priority areas, and will strategically allocate management resources to make them drivers of business growth. At the same time, we aim to make further advances by contributing more than ever to people's healthy lives and a sustainable global environment. As management targets for the end of fiscal 2023, we have set revenue of ¥920 billion, operating profit of ¥140 billion, an operating margin of 15% and ROE (profit for the year attributable to owners of the parent divided by equity attributable to owners of the parent) of 12%. We have also established non-financial targets, including maintaining the new-product ratio at 35% or higher, reducing total carbon dioxide emissions by 25K tons from fiscal 2020 levels and reducing emissions intensity by 20% in anticipation of a decarbonised society. Emissions intensity is an indicator of carbon dioxide emissions per ¥1 billion of revenue. We have also set a global target of 21% for the proportion of women in management positions.」
