Reason for the revision

The main reason for the upward revision to the net sales forecast is that demand for components for AI and semiconductor-related markets has expanded beyond expectations and is expected to remain firm from the third-quarter consolidated accounting period onward. The profit forecasts have been left unchanged from the previous forecasts because substantial profit growth in each business, together with the recognition of a gain on the transfer of the Chemical business, is expected to offset the impact of the temporary loss recorded in the interim consolidated accounting period.

Previous-period resultsNet sales ¥2,070,203 million, operating profit ¥118,138 million, profit before tax ¥168,994 million, profit attributable to owners of the parent ¥140,969 million, basic earnings per share attributable to owners of the parent ¥102.70 (fiscal year ended March 2026)
