Reason for the revision

Market competition for household refrigerators and washing machines intensified in the domestic home appliance market amid greater consumer cost-consciousness, the shift by mass retailers toward SPA models, and aggressive moves by major Chinese home appliance manufacturers driven by the impact of U.S. tariff policy toward China, resulting in a sharp decline in sales. The Company will also recognize product disposal costs of ¥60 million associated with the business restructuring, an inventory valuation loss of ¥356 million, an impairment loss of ¥222 million, and an income tax adjustment loss of ¥61 million resulting from the reversal of deferred tax assets, in addition to the decline in sales in the fourth quarter and higher inventory storage costs.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Market competition for household refrigerators and washing machines intensified, resulting in a sharp decline in sales, due to stronger consumer cost-consciousness, the shift by mass retailers toward SPA models, and aggressive moves by major Chinese home appliance manufacturers driven by the impact of U.S. tariff policy toward China. In addition to lower profits accompanying the decline in fourth-quarter sales and higher inventory storage costs, the results were affected by product disposal costs, inventory valuation losses, impairment losses and the reversal of deferred tax assets associated with the business restructuring.
