The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The full-year forecast for net income attributable to owners of the parent was revised upward because gains on the sale of investment securities are expected to be recorded as extraordinary income in the second quarter. Factors cited for the deterioration in first-quarter earnings were changes in product mix, higher costs including raw material prices, production capacity expansion costs, development costs for optical multiplex transmission equipment, and higher packaging and freight expenses associated with increased shipment volumes.
