The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The recording of a ¥987 million provision for product compensation related to quality issues with automotive products, foreign exchange effects and sales-related factors contributed to the decline in operating profit. In addition, the profit improvement effects from increased sales volume, passing higher raw material prices on to selling prices, new product launches and productivity improvements fell short of initial expectations, resulting in a revision to the full-year earnings forecast.
