The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The decline in FY2025 revenue was due to intensifying competition and weak demand in the Brand Business, as well as lower revenue in the Display Devices Business. The improvement in profitability was attributed to improvements in the automotive, mobile and industrial applications businesses, lower fixed costs resulting from optimization of production capacity, and improved foreign exchange gains and losses. Factors behind the expected decline in revenue and profit in FY2026 include the reversal of special demand related to the transition to Windows 11, higher memory and SSD prices, and a deterioration in the external environment.
