  3. FY2025-H1First statedAnnual report

「The company and its principal domestic subsidiaries had traditionally used the declining-balance method, mainly, to depreciate tangible fixed assets, with certain exceptions, but changed to the straight-line method from the current interim consolidated accounting period. Based on the 2026 Medium-Term Management Plan, whose final year is the fiscal year ending March 2027, the Group aims to strengthen earnings power through active growth investments. In this environment, prompted by the execution of large-scale capital investments related to distribution boards, switchboards, and cabinets, the company reconsidered how tangible fixed assets in Japan are used. It determined that, because stable operation is expected going forward, the straight-line method, which allocates costs evenly over the useful life, more appropriately reflects the actual use of tangible fixed assets. As a result of this change, compared with the previous method, operating income for the current interim consolidated accounting period increased by ¥454 million, while ordinary income and interim net income before income taxes and other adjustments each increased by ¥455 million.」

In light of large-scale capital investments and expectations for stable operation going forward, the company changed its depreciation method for tangible fixed assets from the declining-balance method to the straight-line method. As a result, operating income for the current interim consolidated accounting period increased by ¥454 million, while ordinary income and interim net income before income taxes and other adjustments each increased by ¥455 million.
