Reason for the revision

Due to the delayed reinstatement of EV subsidies in Europe and other factors, EV demand did not increase significantly, and shipment delays for ESS sales also occurred. As a result, revenue from the separator business decreased by ¥968 million versus plan. Revenue from the ion-exchange membrane business also decreased by ¥103 million versus plan, resulting in an overall revenue decrease of ¥1,071 million versus plan. Operating income was affected by lower production volumes and reduced machine utilization resulting from sluggish sales volumes, while the company advanced operational rationalization through cost reductions and improved margins in the ion-exchange membrane business.

Previous-period resultsRevenue ¥1,450 million, operating loss ¥2,868 million, ordinary loss ¥5,412 million, interim net loss attributable to owners of the parent ¥5,429 million, interim net loss per share ¥98.86

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

The reinstatement of EV subsidies in Europe was delayed, and EV demand has not increased significantly. In addition, shipment delays for ESS sales caused revenue from the separator business to fall below plan. Lower production volumes and reduced machine utilization resulting from sluggish sales volumes put downward pressure on operating income, while the company advanced operational rationalization through cost reductions and improved margins in the ion-exchange membrane business.
