The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Consumer spending recovered against a backdrop of improving employment and income conditions. In Japan, customer traffic increased as a result of new store openings, the price revision in February 2025 and the expansion of discount programs. Overseas, expanded store openings in Taiwan supported revenue. Meanwhile, the overseas business experienced costs preceding revenue growth due to labor shortages, rising prices, higher wage and raw material costs, and the impact of severe weather caused by cold waves in parts of North America.
