The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Net sales are expected to increase, as higher sales in the molds segment and the electrical discharge machining and surface treatment segment are expected to outweigh the decline in sales in the machinery and equipment segment. Operating income is expected to increase despite the negative impact of machinery and equipment orders falling short of plan, mainly due to productivity improvement measures such as replacing equipment with more productive equipment, lower personnel expenses, the postponement of repair plans, and lower company-wide expenses resulting from the timing of planned expenses shifting. The increase in ordinary income is attributable to higher operating income, while the increase in net income is attributable to higher operating income as well as a lower income tax burden due to prior tax loss carryforwards and other factors. The dividend was increased in light of the upward revision to the full-year earnings forecast and other factors.
