The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. For systems used in semiconductor production lines, projects based on the order backlog at the end of the previous fiscal year progressed smoothly, and revenue from some projects was recognized earlier than anticipated, resulting in an upward revision to the net sales forecast. The profit forecast was also revised upward as profitability improved due to the effect of higher sales, progress in production efficiency improvements, and enhanced project management. In addition, the order intake forecast was raised because the order environment has remained favorable, and the exchange rate assumption was revised from ¥150 to the US dollar to ¥158. Dividends were increased in light of the policy of emphasizing shareholder returns and the upward revision to the earnings forecasts.
