The percentage change shown by the dotted line is calculated from the two reported figures because the company did not provide the rate.
While net sales were generally in line with the plan and slightly exceeded both the previous forecast and the results for the prior fiscal year, profit indicators from operating income downward fell below the forecast due to selling and administrative costs associated with the consolidation and elimination of departments and the disposal of discontinued products. Although higher prices resulted in a significant year-on-year decline in profit, the price pass-through implemented from September 2025 turned the operating loss recorded at the end of the first half into an operating profit.
One-time amortization of goodwill: ¥17.505 million; valuation loss on shares of an affiliated company: ¥30.977 million (standalone financial statements; no impact on consolidated results); impairment loss associated with business restructuring: ¥6.881 million

The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. While net sales were generally in line with the plan, profit indicators from operating income downward fell below the forecast due to selling and administrative costs associated with the consolidation and elimination of departments and the disposal of discontinued products. The Company also recorded special losses because the earnings initially expected from 寺田精工株式会社 could no longer be anticipated, and because it discontinued the Sprocket Division and consolidated and eliminated certain sales offices. The deferred income tax benefit resulted from a review of the recoverability of deferred tax assets, taking into account the expected impact of future taxable income and the recognition for tax purposes of valuation losses recorded in prior fiscal years.
